Elfster: The Secret Santa App App Reviews

This app, although updated recently, still doesnt work correctly. Especially the Facebook login. Didnt work last year either. And yes, Ive checked my Facebook settings. Useless app...

Cannot sign in!!

Cant even create an account through the app - doubtful the rest of the app works properly either. Guess Ill never know!

It does this randome "loading" thingy that takes about a minute or two until it says "updating" then itll go back and let you use your app again.

I couldnt sign in either. I checked my settings, and everything had access to Facebook, so theoretically I shouldnt have had any problems. Didnt work last year either. So disappointed that, in a year, they didnt do anything to fix all the issues. :(

Pretty crappy substitute for the web app, which says a lot since the web app isnt so great. At least the web app is more functional.

Youll be much better off just picking Secret Santa names from a hat. Worst UI in history.

The Facebook log-in does not work at all, even though it works for every other app on my phone. Its completely unusable.

This app is trash. I try to join my friends secret Santa and it wouldnt let me! All I want to do is have a good time and this piece of junk is holding me back. One star for sure

App UI is pretty bad. Nowhere near the functionality that the website has. Definitely use the website if youre going to use Elfster. The app is just not good. Its also not pretty. Doesnt look like much development went into this.

I really wanted to love the app but it had too many glitches. Ive been using Elfster since 2010 and last year the app worked fine but Im not sure whats going on now. nothing loads and when you try to do something it says "exception error" along with a bunch of other codes. Im sticking to the website.

What can I say? Without being able to log in, it is pretty useless.

Cannot even sign in through my Facebook. I was able to log in twice yesterday and now I just cant sign in at all. Waste of my time!

The only thing this app is good for is looking at a friends list or your own. Features such as adding a link to your own list is not available and the share feature in iPhone Safari does not work. I was hoping I could add a link to an item to my list. It keeps asking me to log on in the main app. Which Ive done. Reset the app, my phone and still fails to work. These are features you would EXPECT to be able to do with the app. So disappointing.

Not designed for the iPad, it might be different on a mobile but otherwise Id recommend the website.

You have one job to do. Make it easy to browse for things you want via links to external sites. Since you cant do that then at least you can allow manual post of the external site.

The date selector defaults to a certain date so even if you select a date it always returns to the default. Just change it to a regular date field instead of the rotary which doesnt work.

Best just to take this app offline before it ruins any credibility the website has. App is worthless. Doesnt sync with its own website. Hard to navigate. Try again next year Elfster.
